Apparently Ed Colligan, CEO of Palm Inc., said in an interview that they've "learned and struggled for a few years here figuring out how to make a decent phone. PC guys are not going to just figure this out. They're not going to just walk in."
While I totally agree with the "struggled" part, but his words reminds me when the iPod was released. No one in the Digital Audio Player(DAP) industry treated Apple's entry to the market seriously enough. Now look at the DAP market. iPod's market share in the US is 87% according to a PC mag article. Since Palm's market share is already falling in the past few years, Ed's words are not reasurring at all. Stuff Apple makes continues to impress a lot of people, including me. an iPhone, if done correctly, would be very attractive.
